Getting ready to put a 1.25 ripsaw in 02 viper. I dont plan on studding. Do I need to remove the tunnel and front exchanger protectors so its like an 04?

I had to cut the lug down on mine where the protectors are, was able to use a side cutters and took about 1/8th to a 1/4 off in those spots

Mine doesn't rub on the tunnel protectors at all.
Since I don't have studs I removed the front protectors with a Dremel.
It probably will rub if you don't, but some leave them there and let the track wear by itself.

Ok, thanks guys. Sounds like I need to start cutting those front protectors out before I go any farther.
Dont remove the protectors, you will regret it!yamirules said:Ok, thanks guys. Sounds like I need to start cutting those front protectors out before I go any farther.
On the ripsaw track, just clip the small teeth off the lug of the track inline with the windows. This will give you ample clearence and doesnt hurt the track!
I know you dont plan on studding, but who really knows the future??

just put it on and let it wear in. will not hurt it at all. kirkswims is that way and we have had no problems with it.
