Hey guys,
So I am thinking about gearing my sled down a little bit. I did it on my buddies Fusion and went down a tooth or 2 cant remember and damn that thing gets up and goes. So I know stock mines a 22/39 with a 70L chain. I would like to keep the same chain if possible, what can I gear it down to? I see the SRX runs a 22/38 with a 70L, do you think I would be able to notice the difference with that? Let me know what you guys think..

I've read on this forum that you can go to a 22/40 without changing the chain. That gearing is part of Turks recomended setup. 40 tooth gear is p/n 89J-47587-00-00. It lists for $45.95.
Maybe I will have to ask Turk and see.

He asked about dropping a tooth on bottom, hence more top end. Then a reference about adding a tooth on bottom. I don't think there's any problems with adding teeth on bottom with the chain, but if you drop more than one on top, you need a 68T chain because it bends too much.
I just put a 41T bottom in mine, will let you know how I works.

Yeah let me know how that turns out. I would like to get a little more bottom end, so I guess I should go the other way not up but down in numbers. I am new to the new gearing thing, but it was simple enough and I really don't need to go 110+ for what I do. But we will see I may change my mind again.
I have a 1.95 ratio in my sled and you will find out that it will reach a 100 quicker than when it has the stock gear. I think my gearing is 20/39, a 21/41 set up should work to... You will notice that when you take off th sled will feel different than what you're used to, but when you snap the throttle on a roll she'll get it. It should almost feel like riding a dirtbike, meaning the power should be right there all the time. T
Bandit are you using a stock chain?
Think so. I had 15 wide gears in it from a 99SRX and bought gears from someone on here and the chain was different-Longer I think, IF I remember right...
