Hi everyone,
I have owned my 2000 SRX for a few years but I have never ridden it much. But what I am looking for is some real world numbers in how many mpg's a totally stock SRX should get. I THINK I got about 10 mpg's, but I am not sure exactly. What should I aim for?
Thanks,
Zack

Today I got over 14 mpg on my 2001 SRX. Temps were 15F to 20F with a good hard packed rail road bed. a few stretches of 100mph with a 110 to boot.

around 11mpg riding pretty hard never checked it on a nice easy ride

Check your clutching...even 200 rpm over-rev will kill fuel economy.

I rode on a 400 mile trek in the UP of MI and averaged about 12 with various thottle all over the place depending on the trails. Alot better than the new Polaris IQs I was riding with. They got about 8 mpg.

Wow, has gas changed that much? Many SRX's used to get 14mpg or better running pretty hard.

This topic has been covered alot lately.
780 big bore - well ported, ported cases, 40.5mm carbs, Bender Big Bore pipes, V-Force 2's. Trail setup
14.9 mpg in the soft trails (snowed 4" the night before, with minimal traffic). We were travelling anywhere from 30 mph to over 100 mph, and I am certainly not easy on the throttle. I figure it should do 16-17 mpg on nice hard packed trails.

Actual Miles vs. Odometer reading
Keep in mind it would be common for our speedometers to be up to 10% off and it seems they are ussaully reading fast. This would make the odometer read the same % more miles than actaully traveled. A GPS would be much more acurate unless you know your speedo and adjust for it. Mine's about 9% off after switching to a 1.6 track. (55mph is actaully 50) Just something to keep in mind.

with throttle pinned all day..lucky at 10 miles a gallon, but it's fun.SRX's are meant to be riden hard and fast.
As a rule of thumb. I know I can get 100 miles on a tank driving balls out. Anything after that I pray for a gas station. I have seen 110 on a tank once. Of coarse it will vary on how your driving
I know last year I was within a tenth or two of my uncle's viper (sometimes under, sometimes over) in the gas we took at each stop. His viper gets better mileage than any of the other sleds we ride with and it's a mix of cats and other yammies and a polaris or two. Last year we did have a couple of doo's with us and they were about the same in gas but they weren't the infamous SDI's. I think we were getting 15-16 mpg.
