Oil Consumption ?

I normally use approx 1 litre of oil for 70 litres of gas. That scared me when I first realized how little it was. My sled has 21,000 kms, original engine. Oil pump is set to spec, and I've asked other owners who seem to be getting the same oil consumption.
 
I worked on mine this last week and moved it from about 23mm down to 19mm. Close to 55:1, so I dropped down to 18mm and didn't have time to run again. I did notice from one day to the next that my oil consumption was different at 19mm.

I have one odd question.....could me topping the oil tank right to the top in an effort to precisely measure the amount of oil added be causing a sort of vacuum in the oil tank? My thought is that the oil cap doesn't seem like it would be vented.

I got good gas mileage using 20.5 gallons of gas in 300 miles of fantastic groomed trails. Temps outside are ruining that now. :(

there's a vent line in tank so if thats working and not pluged should
be no vacuum.
 
Last week I used 16oz of oil in 10gallons of gas which my cable was set at 22mm. I changed it to 20mm and used 21 oz of oil to 9 gallons of gas. Think I should drop it to 19.5?
 
I figured mine on SRX approx. Went thru about 39.71 litres of gas using approx 600 ml oil.That is again roughly 8.74 gallons using 20 oz of oil. My oil setting was set at 20mm.Has been this way since I bought sled. Does this seem a tad on the low side for the oil usage.

blue your around 55.9:1 almost 56:1 with them numbers,i'd like to see you a tad richer,try 19mm.
 
Well daman.Tell me..did I do better today or not.Oil cable adjusted to 19mm.I ran 31.85 liters of gas and used 610 ml of oil.What does your formula tell me???

can't u give me numbers in US??? :) gota convert now......
 
DAMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here are the results of today's ride.
I used 4.25 US gallons or approx. 15.50 liters of fuel. ;)! Oil usage is 12 oz or 350 ml.Now is this simpler for you to figure out now..as if you had anything else better to do...lolllllll ;)!
