I should have done this simple mod. on my Viper years ago. I have seen it posted often and in the Tech pages and for one reason or another I never did it. For me the differece was amazing and I am not talking about the improved mid range pull. For years my viper wasn't as fuel efficient as many other's out there. I have put two tanks of gas through since the modifcations and have averaged 14-15 miles per gallon (canadian). To put that into perspective that's about 150 miles (250 km) per tank. The very best I ever got before that was 120 miles. That's a 20% improvement and translates into a full tank of fuel, $50 up in Quebec, where we run 300 plus miles a day. On a four day trip that adds up and I haven't even factored in the oil!!!!
All I can say is thanks for the tip in the Tech pages Turk....I should have done this a long ago and recommend it to any trail rider!!!!

other than the green spring and helix, 70 degree wrap, everything is all stock.
I will take note of the operating RPM's and post after my next ride. Conditions have been quite "fluffy" around here lately so it is tough to get an accurate reading on the rpm's.
