LIFE MEMBER ONLY ONCE!!!
I noticed that I have some kind of bog at about 7000rpm when I pin it.Clutches all have been rebuilt last summer. It feels like a clutch issue. So I decided to grab my spare clutch I bought of TURK and switch things over. That clutch too has had a complete re-build.This time I put in 14.5 rollers instead of the 15 rollers.,same 8DN-20 weights with 4.5 inner and 5.4 outer.Put back a brand new stock primary spring...y-w-y from the y-g-y I was running.Kept the green at 70 on the 2ndary.
Also wanted to check my plugs and they were good in color but then noticed I was running the Iridium plugs instead of the stock SRX plugs.I put these in the summer because I was fogging engine and was supposed to replace with the brand new stock SRX plugs.I disconnected the TORS yesturday also to see if anything changes with the rpm bog.
I sort of figured the SRX was a stronger runner from when you pin it,seemed something wasn't on target, engine didn't seem to pull hard and not snappy enough from a launch.
NOW let me tell you. This is a different sled now.Man that little 700 has just been woken up.It is totally a different beast now.She launches straight up to 8200 and then you really have to friggin hang on for your life. She wants to breaK LOOSE.The ski's just lift up at launch and I have no steering for as long as I am pinning it. WHAT THE?????Even if I am cruising at 40 mph and punch it,I see the ski's wanna lift.I have my transfer set 50/50 right now to.HOLY COW does this SRX wanna move now.So I had some fun today doing launches. When she bite...the front end jumped right up even up to 2 feet with no problem. This is the sled I always wanted to run like that.I will slowly crank down the space on the transfer rods until ski's are a tad off the snow.
Went down to the River today to try and do some speed runs,a little bit iffy on the river, but I tried. There just happened to be 5 doos there on the hill top watching me do about 5 runs. I was hitting speeds up to 110 but had to let go or hit the bridge.I stopped the sled, shut it down and was hoping for one of them guys to race me.NO LUCK..they all drive within 20 feet of me,not a wave or anything and leave. Then came a Polaris, man that thing sounded bad,the noise coming off it.Guess he was no challenge. Was hoping for a F7 but no go.I went home and did a lot of launches and sled kept performing. It was mild today,so would like to see how sld runs in a little cooler weather now.I even did some ditch banging and caught some air even. Not a whimper from the DCS..not any.I am happy with the state the SRX is in now and will enjoy my rides.Only thing today because of all the launches and speed runs,I think I was lucky to get even 10 mph...lol. Oh well that is the cost of having fun. Sled just leaps when I get on it....right on.
Oh yeah, connected the TORS back up since it was not the problem.

My question to you's. Why would switching from one clutch to another make that much difference?Everything re-built,bushings,glides,etc.That clutch was from my SXR600 and towards end of season last year I switched the SRX clutch with it and it did the same thing Turk's clutch is doing now...working.There is no binding anywhere..strange one to say the least. And the SRX clutch last season that was not working good is on my SXR600 now and working great.Go figure.

My SRX is running pretty strong now and I am pleased.Everything is staying together on it this year to.I will still try a couplre more spring changes and roller changes to see if anything can be gained.Probably try the w-w-w primary spring and see if it upshifts even quicker without bogging.Right now on a groomed trail I nail the throttle and she is right on 8200 and climbs from there as it supposed to.Very responsive and I may tighten the limiter straps a tad to help keep ski's planted more.It is all testing and more testing and keeping notes on all the changers made.
blue will go caboummmmmmm
I too installed the clutching recommendations of Turk in my 99 700 SX. Wow what a different sled. Yes, I too can get extreme weight transfer and lift front for a long time at WOT. I noticed a great side effect of much better fuel economy also. I have ordered all parts to upgrade wifes 600 also. so much fun now. Al

it proves that you gain more with clutching than anything else the more of the power you get to the track the better

mod...no kaboooooooooooooom here. I have everything under control. Yes it is very important to get your clutching as close as possible, because it will get more power to the track and sled performs way better.
