I've found a good deal on an '02 SXr 600 with a melted piston.
I have a '97 SX 700 that runs good.
What parts should I use from either sled to make it right?
The '02 has bender pipes and v-force reeds, Heel clickers.
I haven't had time to really look over the '02 yet, I'm not sure that it isn't going to take too much work to fix. I'll try to look it over better tommorrow after work.

I could use some help guys.
Should I buy the sled and drop my motor in?
Will my motor plug in or do I need to change the stator?
Anything else?

You could just drop your motor and go. And sell the rest in pieces. At least that is my idea. I know the cranks are the same, so you could just do jugs, pistons, head, carbs and wiring, but it's easier to do it all at once.

change the cdi i was told 4 deg between the two. Carbs jetts are not gonna be the same use 700 cdi and carbs and rejet from there. I did the same thing with a 98 vmax 700 in my 00 sxr 600. thats my two cents

Thanks guys!
The old motor is already pulled (600).
Will the '97 CDI box plug in to the '02 wiring?

I have 3 cylinders/pistons/rings with about 1500 miles on them and in very good condition. If you end up getting it and are interested in swapping the top end, PM me. No head though.

Bought the sled, It is a 2000 though. It has adjustable transfers. It has a really nice, well studded track. Everything looks to be in good shape. I will put the motor in this weekend.

Motor is in. The swap went pretty smooth except, I broke off one of the exhaust manifold bolts. About 4 hours of trying to get the broken off bolt out ended in drilling and retapping the hole. I saved all of the original threads! It now has studs holding the exhaust on. Now comes the hard part, getting the bugs out. I'll make a new post with pics tomorrow.
