You can take the bearing out without removing the shaft from the sled, remove both set screws and you should be able to slide it off that end, you may have to hit it with a chisel to get it to slide off, this is assuming you've removed the speedo cable housing below the secondary.

Yeah, I have the speedo housing out.....i will take the secondary off and see if I can get the bearing off.

Turns out that my speedo gear is no good and all locked up. I cleaned off the bearing and it had plenty of grease and looks great. I think all the debris in the pic was from the speedo gear.
 
I would remove the bearing as well and clean out and regrease it. the grease gets hard and bunches up between the rollers and the bearings fail.

If you want to never replace it again, heres a little trick, get a grease zerk and take a small ballpeen hammer, slightly dent the speedo housing on the topedge, this gives you a flat surface to install zerk. Then drill and tap for the zerk fitting. I remove the outside seal from the driveshaft bearing, this allows you to periodicly grease the driveshaft bearing and the speedo drive, the bearings will last well over 5000 miles this way.
 
My 2000 SRX has 4000 miles on it and this year the speedo just doesn't work at all. Since the sled is 2 hours away from my house, I will look at it in detail this coming weekend.
But considering the mileage, I may have to go thru what was outlined above.
 
I tried to drill out the joint, and broke a piece of a drillbit in there. I drilled some more in that hole, and was able to jam a shortened joint in there, and now about 8 km later, it seems to hold up, even to the top speed of the sled. Going to replace the drive shaft for an updated one later, so for now it will have to hold.
