sure do....not only do you have to split the cases on a '98 srx, but you do on every sled.

Not quite true. Our 98 Formula Z 670, has 2 seals in it, one in the middle of the case (each cyl has it own seal), we pulled the clutch off. Got a couple large fat deck screws, threaded them in. 2 guys and 2 pairs of vise grips and it will come out. Then to reinstall...(this came directly from the biggest parts/repair shop around)...get a bench grinder, and very slowly and lightly remove most of the rib. Then lube the seal with 5-minute epoxy and slam'er in! It takes some work to get it in. We did this and 200km later it is still running perfect.
I know this is not what you would do...but I would not hesitate doing it this way.
