My friend just brought his srx over for me to clean his carbs
it starts and runs but with the choke off it would die
easy enought I'll bet the pilot jets are plugged up

I have cleaned dozens and dozens of carbs over the past 20 years
and figured no big deal
I even reviewed the tech page b4 I started ....just in case

sure enough pilots were plugged cleaned them as well as the rest of the circuits
fired up idled down to 1800 took her for a spin around the yard
nice and snappy went to turn and she hung @ 3000 rpm
throttle on and off no change......... wtf did I do?
hit the kill switch for less than a second to get the rpm under 2000
then back on ....... ran fine stop again and stuck @ 3000 rpm

all wires plugs etc seem connected positive snap

any help would be great need room in the garage for the wife's car

and I just put a shot of liquid wrench on the return spring
almost seems electrical(?) when it hangs @ 3000 rpm throttle off or wide open
no change in rpm how does it do that?

the tors switch is built into the idle stop is something in there binding or
not right allowing the stop to not return,

I don't think a slide is stuck or broken I felt each when setting the throttle cable
all went up and down and for the few seconds I did ride the throttle respnse was awesome.........

TORS switch is it under the idle stop screw? I had backed the idle stop screw all the way out til it stopped because of high idle when first firing , then assumed an air leak and found the center cylinder air box boot not on all the way I shut her down and remidied that issue asap and B4 I took a spin around the yard
is the TORS a sensor or a switch and do I need a little pressure on it to make it work
I did push down on the throttle cam and she idled down , so maybe my throttle cable is a turn too tight(?)
thanks for working with me guys

tors i s a simple switch,,you need slack free play in the cable(2mm)check
motion through out the travle, look close,it's something simple but on this
side of the computer hard to say.

DAMAN ............Da MAN thank you very much for sticking with me
2mm it is ........now and runs perfect idles down to 1000 or less , now adjusted to 1800 rpm and snappy no more 3000 hang up TORS switch must have not been satisfied
so with snow coming here tomorrow this kid should be pretty happy
now how can I tell if the power valves are doing there thing? riding last year I wasn't really impressed with this things top end, an older 670 ski doo (black purple and all stock, I cleaned the carbs on that one too) stayed with it her all the way to the top(?)

anyway thanks again as always all you guys have been a great help
