My, 99 700 consistantly run's over 100 on GPS. I ran 103 on a road in Detroit Lakes area. On ice I believe I could sqeeze maybe one more.

a 700 easily gets to 100mph with some simple adjustment and maintenance.

hard to tell you how to do this when we cant see the machine....there could be something wrong with it...does it roll freely or is there alot of rolling resistance, is it clutched right, what are you reving at WOT, are you jetting really rich, whats the compression, what track?????? and the questions can go on and on.
Here is my set up:
Turks Trail tuning for the clutch, and gearing 99 SX 700 See clutch tuning pages.
Milled head .020
Stock jetting
Medium height windshield
Arctic cat track, 7/8 144 1" studs, aluminum backers
Alway use Premium fuel, Yamalube oil.
New belt every year, or 1500 miles whichever first.
Good luck, Check the clutch set up which "Turk" has recommended, makes the machine really wake up. Al

it was a little over 2.5tenths maybe 3tenths....... if clutched properly the RPM's should come up and stay the same as clutches shift out and speed increases(my dad says =0)..... BTW out side temp. was about 33'F... does 120mph much quicker when in the teens......

I ran my 97 sx at a radar run a few weeks ago, the speedo was buried and the radar speed was 101 mph. I have different gearing and some clutch work done.

Hey, I am just glad we have another snowmobiler who is having alot of fun with his Yamaha, If the machine runs 120 on speedo great. Mine says 118 on speedo when in reality the machine goes 103 on GPS. Just be carefull and stay straigt on the trails, we do not need to hear of any more accidents this year. I am glad we have an active member who is so young and enthused about snowmobileing.

I can only pull 95 MPH on my piped 136" 600, and I'm not afraid to say it, but in my case i hate to run the lake and go fast. Like I said a while ago I like it slow and deep.....jajajajaja
My advice SLOW DOWN...if you want to go fast do like Ricky Bobby.

Daman, you are right, I should have included their is a place to run fast and it is NOT on the trails. Pick a nice wide open lake to do WOT run's. Stay in control on the trails. I should have included that in my last post. Sorry guys I forgot a few things. Al
