What years did the MM come with the longer cables for high bars? I am looking to put a 6" riser on mine and heard that the OEM MM stuff is better quality compared to RSI or Powermadd.
 
Can't help you with the cables on a stock sled, but there is nothing wrong with Gravity Works cables. I think that they are on this site some now too, but you can for sure find him over at snowest. I've used some RSI stuff too (not their cables) and it's all been good stuff as well. Depending on how high you are going the mountain cables might not be tall enough. I've got a set from MPI and with my bar setup they are about as tight as I'd like them. The Gravitys that are on my other sled are quite a bit longer.
 
No idea. Shop around. I think they all have online stores now. RSI is in MN (I think) so you could have their stuff within a day or two. They have bars too if you haven't picked up a set yet.

Currently I'm running a set of Fly bars (cr low), RSI 7" riser, and the powermad pivot adaptor. It's a touch taller than I'd like for trail riding, and not tall enough for mountain riding, but a good compromise. If I had a money tree out back I'd spring for the rox adjustable in the 6 - 8 version with the wrenchless levers. That way I could drop them for trail running and raise them for when we go west or run off trail all day.
 
Controls are easy. Grips/warmers are simple enough. Just dependon if you want to reuse them or go a different route. Depending on the height you may have to lengthen the wires for everything under there. That is slow, but easy enough.

I had bent my stock bars last winter so I swapped over the summer.
 
Well I think for now I am just going to see what I can get used and then go from there. I mean 130 just to raise the bars 6" is kinda crazy.
 
4.5" is the max and its the mtn. viper cables that are longer.....03-05. i would prolly use motion pro or rsi....
 
The Mtn Maxs from '97 to '99 had the throttle cable and oil cables ran over the top of the air box. So they were shorter. In '00 the cables were ran around the air box. This new routing allows you to go ALOT taller and just run the cables over the top and have plenty of room. You will need a longer brake line.
