F-7 where'd they go

Maybe YOU had no issues, but I know several that have. One of my friends has a couple very fast 2003 F7's, he set the NSSR world record a couple years ago in 1000' for the stock 700 class at over 107mph. He loves his F7's basically because they are fast, but has had several issues with burn downs. That is one of his main gripes. He says they will be running fine and just go BOOM. Not one, but both of his F7's have done this a few times.

I bet he did too much 'tweaking' to his stock sled causing it to go boom.

ive seen many 03' f7's blow up when completely stock, they had a really lean oil pump, cat updated to a new pump which was really rich on oil.

I know of a few guys that grenaded new f7s in 03 with under 600 miles. Almost all my old riding buds swore by cat. Now those guys don't even ride if they even still own a sled. It was a pretty well documented that while the 03's were the fastest, they also had a lot of motor issues.

I like suzukis, but they don't make sleds anymore. Cat does all the tuning on them, and if they get too greedy, they blow up.

Good read. You should post that in the General section also.

My computer is really acting up and won't let me download acrobat. What were the final #'s for the sled makers?

Good thing a new computer has been ordered.

yeah, yamaha machines last so long. thats why they're not at the top. Too reliable, like i say, why buy a new one when mine is still like new.

If that was the case, why would Toyota take over #1 in auto sales from GM last year?

My opinion is that many sledders are not into foreign machinery, and Yamaha's are a little more pricey than the other 3 brands.
