Last night I went for a ride to try out the w-w-w clutch set up. Man that set up rocks, anyway after a couple of miles the lights flickered and tach died for a couple seconds. I figured it was a rub thru after reading so many threads on this site, so I started checking. I was trying to pull out the wiring harness from under the motor and was having a hell of a time, so I decided to pull the recoil off. I noticed that one bolt was missing from the pick up coil and the other was loose. I could not find the bolt so I pulled the flywheel off and it was wedged between 2 poles on the stator. There was no locktite on either bolt and also none on the starter pulley. I lost the bolts on starter pulley on my red head triple a couple of years ago and blew the case apart. I checked the wires and no rub thru's, so I put every thing back together (relocated the harness from under the motor) and it's running good for now. My srx only has 3200km's on it so I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to. All I can say is If you have your recoil off for any reason be sure to pull those bolts and locktite them. If I would have kept riding it probably would have cost me a stator and maybe worse!!!

I relocated it across the carbs and down the frame next to the clutch cover.
