How does loosening your transfer rods effect your RPM??????????
And for drag racing you would want a higher engagement speed.
Stock F7...the ones around here anyhow are rocket ships, my 700SXR doesn't have a chance against them.

what do you have done to your SX to get it to go that fast? faster than 96mph in 660ft? thats fast! you must have alot of work done to your sled

for sure that is fast.. Ive had my sx with pipes only reach 87 in 660ft. which on that day was the fastest of any triple yamaha we saw run!

My buddy has a 2005 F7 and it is VERY Fast. I lake raced him with my 760 Big Bore and he killed me. Granted I was spinning like mad, geared lower than i sould be, had worn studs, but on the hard pack he attained 118 MPH with GPS. That was under very ideal conditions however. It is well tuned with a few tweaks here and there. Most stock looking firecats probably won't do that well...he is kind of like that ancient kung-fu grandmaster type that shows up and cleans house.
I have done tons of work on mine and will race him again later this season, probably not going to beat him, but hopefully get much closer.

well, im not really sure, I read somewhere that some guy had a stock F-5 up to 103 mph on radar, its hard to believe though, its only a 500, but its liquid cooled with 104 hp, and F-7, man, there fast, stock f-7 vs. stock Mach Z/Renegade 1000 and the F-7 will come out on top, but the Doo 1000's need an aftermarket clutch kit to really wake up the motor, from what I hear, if your SX was heavily modified and his was stock, i'd say, but dont get me wrong, Im still a YAMAHA guy!!! I heard somewhere to that a stock f-7 will do 110-114 mph, not sure on how true this is either.
last radar run I was at there was a F5 that ran 85mph in 500ft on a shitty snow/dirt/grass track in the 700 class that I raced I got 81 mph out of my srx700 and I'm a big guy 6'1" 275# and they only sled that beat me was a modded F7 with a guy probably around 200# riding it he turned 82 mph not sure what all he has done to it but he is the local mechanic at a artic crap shop and he is a damn good mechanic so I know he has that thing running as good as you can get one to run

If you have a stock pipe, all the f7's will fly by you, until they burn down that is.
Those were fast sleds when they were not in the shop getting fixed.

My nephew has an 06 or 07 F7. I rode it last year once, I thought I was doing 80-90 mph and nearly sh!t myself when I looked at the speedo and saw 115mph! I had my gps with me and a little later had it to 121 mph! Just for fun I raced him this year. I keep up with him... for about 50ft! And my sled was running pretty good that night. I don't know what mods he's done to it. But I'm sure it's not completely stock, he's a pretty good sled mechanic. He also owns a 600 srx, so he has a pretty good respect for yammi's.
You have to be a pretty good sled mechanic to own an arctic crap

IDK, but he loves his Arctic Crap. The F7 is also very light and the efi is very responsive, from what I saw.
