I like the sled I have now and dont want to spend any more than I have too in this economy. My buddys are blowing me away and I dont need to beat them but would like to keep up a little better. I have a 6K 98 700 stock except I have put viper (I think) skid springs on it to give me a little more travel. I will test my compression tomorrow but I think it is good. My clutch just started sticking a little 2 days ago on my last ride so it will get rebushed. I read about the cleaning and sanding of the sheaves. Which mods do I do to the clutch? My track is 2 years old and not picked but in good shape. All the bogey wheels are fine. I am not a racer and do not want to hurt the reliability of this machine. I am not opposed to getting a better track in the future if this matters. Currantly I am running 8200 wide open and 84.9 MPH by GPS. I would like to hit 93 with out hurting my power out of the corners. I only ride on groomed trails.

look in the tech section , there are reliable proven setups for a lil of nothin

Ok, I have read quite a bit on here and want to order parts so I can get started. I guess I am going to try turks trail set up. What do i need to buy? I am going to rebush clutch also. What is my stock helix?

Go to the tech section, there is a chart that lists stock setups for each machine. Make a list that compares your stock items with Turks recomendations so you can see what needs replacing for his setup. It's most likely the helix, the lower chaincase gear, rivets for the primary weights, etc. Then you can look up the part numbers for the items that fit your sled in the "alternate drive" sections of the parts fish for your machine. Many yamaha vendors and I think even this site have online parts listings.
