Hey guys i have a 98 srx700 and am getting the 7 fault light flashes. I have done a bunch of reading on the forums on how to remedy this but i think it might be the servo motor itself? when i put my sled on a track lift and rev it up the servo should be turning the powervalve cables right? mine does not move at all. Any help would be appriciated

start the sled up idle it down to 900 rpm's and with the cover off the servo
does it cycle(open) the valves then stop??? post back...

yep it should move try turning the idle down below 900 rpm and see if it opens all the way? That is better then revving it up and having to pull it out of the neighbors house!!!! All kidding aside!!!!!!!!The next step if it still doesn't work would be to check all your valves and cables to make sure they move freely......after that I would check wiring for a rub through. And then I would look at getting a new motor in the classifieds!!! but only after checking all of these things first!!!! Let us know

Hey guys thanks for the reply... I tried to idle it down below 900 rpm by just half choking it and the servo still does not move. I just finished pulling off all the power valves and they move freely and the cables are still attached. So i cleaned them while they were off. I put them all back together and tried to idle it below 900 rpm again to see if i helped anything and still the servo does not move. Again i tried revving it up and the servo did not move.

Its wierd tho cuz im getting a wide array of temp light flashes now 1 flash them 4 flashes then 7 flashes then 2???
I'm starting to think it might be the wiring harness rub but i havent checked it yet which will be my next step.
But still that servo should move? The rub might be affecting my servo motor?

i am trying to check for the rub through on the wiring harness and i took off the pipes to have a good look at them and they look fine but i cant tell ater the harness leads underneath the engine. Can i just unclip the other end of the harness and pull them right out to have a better look?

If so where is the other end clipped to? and do i have to remove anything to get to it like the air box?

unplug the harness up by the hood hinge and tie a string around the end,then pull it out the other end(carb),when done pull back through with the string you tied on earlier.

Just finished re-routing the wiring harness and fixing one rub through spot but sadly my servo still does not want to move at all. But at least i get a constant 7 fault light flashes now. I guess replacing the servo is the next step?

well theres another check we can do,you got a ohm meter to check continuity?

i'll post it up tommarow.

you can do two other things here;

1st test servo motor with 12v's , NOT the idling down engine meathead.

2nd test CDI .

you may have a shot cdi or servo motor,do thos test and post back.

Ok just got off work im gonna try it.... I have 12 v's and a multimeter so should be good to go will let u know how it goes
