Guys with Vipers? I just changed my lower drive bearings both sides, After everthing back together I have noticed a hum (Wine) comming from the chain case side. The sled is an ER so it has reverse. everthing works well, goes in and out of fwd/rev, chain is finger tight and locked down. Gear oil is correct level and no visable metal. All gears, chain looked to be in good shape when all was apart. I havent had much time on the Viper as it is my back up sled now. Is this normal?

I had the same issue a few years back when I replaced the same parts. I had re-used the chain, and when i opened it up i noticed that it was a little loose. i figured since i had it open again anyway that it was a sign to change it, so I did and the issue went away. There is still a little whine noise, but if yours is excessive like mine was than no it is not normal. Hope this helps.

Did you make sure you put the chain back on the same way it came off(rotation wise)?Even if you can't see it the chain will wear a pattern into the gears.
