Can anyone tell me if a SRX or mountain max oil pump will work on a Viper? Or if the oil cable bracket is the same height/shape?

had to take it in to dealer to get the pump fixed. $450 to pull motor and get oil cable mount bracket welded and another $150 for carb clean. Sucks, but that the nature of a 2-stroke.

i posted the question a few times and didn't get any responses. It was $650 to weld the metal bracket that holds the cable! I couldn't even track down a bracket because they are sold only as part of the pump and there aren't many vipers or srxs in this neck of the woods.
I know i could have done the carb clean, but because they did work on the oil pump i decided to take them the crbs and said check the jets and put it all back together. I don't think they cleaned them thoroughly except pulling the fuel bowls and looking to see how things looked.
RE removing the oil pump, i asked if i could do that but it required engine lift and clutch realigning etc that i am not sure i could do with out proper tools. Plus i don't know much about pipes and gasket glue that i would need for when the triples are removed to lift the engine.
Daman, do you think i could have down it without clutch aligning tools? It will be good to know if there is a next time that i need to lift the motor. The next time will likely be to repair a melt down from running with virtually no oil when the mount broke.

i know they charged more time the the flat rate in the manual. but they did do a few little extras to secure it in place and weld it. The entire job took them 7.1 hours and they ate 2. It probably shouldn't have taken that long, but there isn't a lot of these sleds here. It is a big job too.
