Thanks for the update.. all season.
Supposed to get snow up there, wed - saturday. Hopefully they get alot!!
1000 sleds mmmm I hope there is a little less next weekend. :bump:

No problemo...last weekend was not the best time to be in Munising with the warmup and total loss of riding in the lower. I guess everyone that planned on riding last week/weekend went to the only place they could...Munising to Grand Marais.....very busy.....I hope they get snow for your trip.

All day trip and more. We usually ride from Newberry to Grand Maris stay the night then to Pardice stay the night and ride back the next day.
Back in the day.

We started out in strongs, MI, made it to grand marais and back. I think it was a 276 mile day.

Also did the loop south out of strongs, through trout lake, over to newberry, up to grand marais, then over to paradise, then back to strongs. That was too much riding.

IF you look at your map off of 45 north of newberry, you can jump on a county road(500??) then catch(414??) hit pike lake area, and get up to trail 8. That is a significant time saver. We stayed in Grand marais and paradise, and used that quite ofte, trail 8 between grand marais, and paradise is a great trail. Not as heavily traveled as the 45 trail out of newberry. It has been a few years since I have ridden, so that stuff is from memory, and the county road numbers might be off.

thanks for all the info guys... Yooper mike. I am hoping for 12 + inches...

Does the trail go right by the falls, Or do you run the roads over and back??

Trail 45 does go right by the falls entrance, but have never been there on a sled. I do the majority of my riding west of Deer Park Rd. (CR407), north of M-28, and east of M-77, no trails, all cross-country or 2 tracks. :letitsnow

7 mile fire lane rd, red green rd. Coast guard rd. These are all from memory, but your right that area is awesome. I used to put many a mile in that area. Run east out of grand marais and run to the two heart. We have been in some places, that are just fantastic. A couple of hills I don't see how a sled could climb, but you see tracks up them!
