Dyno Mite Dyno , Good Or No Good

I have one if your looking for one Vince!! Not too keen on it... I found the loading valve to be very difficult to operate..

Our clean snowmobile team here at Michigan Tech uses this dynamometer. I personally have never used it, but that will change in the upcoming weeks when we do our testing on our 09 Competition sled.

We just had it on a rs vector earlier this year, but i do not know the results of that and how accurate the numbers are, compared to Yamaha's numbers.

yamyrider and i are booked for tuesday morning on one , i will post results . im hoping it will be done outside . from what i read , if its indoors , the booth has to be ventilated and simulated ,. looks like a lot of $$$$$ to build

I am very interested to see the results! As we all know the HP numbers can vary a fair bit Dyno to Dyno depending on brand ,operator ,corrections ect... but with 2 sleds you will get a real good idea how your setups are.

No,, But I Did Run Aginst Wayne Back In 2000 , Im Going Right Here In Town ,

Ryan If You Have Time Go And See The Srx Cab @ Home , Bob Should Be In The Shed , I Think Its Ok For What You Want To Do

Ok, thanks Vince. I guess you're going to see Derek Laporte then for the dyno. Those are the only two that I know of around here.

its not a secret RYAN , bob made the arangements , he does not know the fellas fist name but the last name is Lefevbre. I hope it gives me a general idea where my peak hp /rpm is at , im hoping its under 8800rpm .

I didn't check the link, and thought it was a track dyno that you were going to. My bad.

Figuring out where you build power is exactly what it will do. The peak number doesn't really matter, as those types of dyno's numbers vary with the operators, but you will discover what rpm you build your most hp. It'll be the best money you've spent.

FYI, most every time the motor peak HP rpm on the dyno will not be the same track peak hp on a track dyno. Thats with many very good motor builder dynos. In some cases I see 20hp to the track less if you clutch to the dyno rpm peak.

Vince let me know if Mike has a manual or automatic loading valve on his Dynomite.. We only used our's with a manual valve and I did not like the control of the engine rpm's with it. Maybe it was just me but I found it very hard to load the engine smoothly without spiking the r'ss... Aswell I didn't have anything but stock airjets for your sled.. Sorry I couldn't be of help..

mod ,not yet,, i trail ride 99 miles today changed my set up (8dn-10 y-w-y 49.4 g. www 50/40 h. 8800 rpm ) and it was excellent on fuel ,did not pull like the other day (8ca 50.1 g st. 47 h.8600 rpm ) but i was yahoooooo!!! happy ! i hope to get some pics tomorrow to post . the girls are really getting good at riding and it makes it awsome all around !!!

Jabber - thanx all the same ,

toydoc , thats very interesting info because i would swear im making power between 8300 to 8600 without a dyno ,. my engine is pretty much blawwww up to 7800 so im anxoius ...to see

Thats a wide rpm 8300~8600, so It's sounds like it has a good wide powerband. It may make peak motor dyno hp at 8600 rpm. But track peak hp maybe 8400 rpm. Maybe change 6 hp at the track from 8600 to 8400, I don't know without testing. Just most times I don't see dyno hp and track hp line up at the same rpm. Take + or - 200rpm and you can see 6hp gain or as much as 20hp.

ok were back from the dynomite dyno,,, we were not even in the shop 3 feet and the first thing the fella said is "my dyno is off on horsepower
" and i thought to myself "here we go " but i guess he was trying to be honest , HE had taken his t-cat to a superflow dyno and registered 192hp and the dynomite would register 182hp.

So he hooks up the SRX/600 AND pulls it outside . It took atleast 4 dyno runs to see 119.1hp . The engine is very peeky and makes power between 8350 and 8500rpm , anything under or over was horrible , thus making it very very veryyyyyy difficult to operate the flow valve . He had no printer , but if he would have , it would have showed the tip of mount everest on a graph...

Then we hooked up the 700 SXR PIPED WITH BENDERS and it recorded 133.2 hp @8700rpm and it was very easy to operate the flow valve since it climbed in hp so gradually , more like a big round hill on a graph i suppose !

So I guess we know that we are not making any less than those # and dont know how much more we are making either . He did call the dynomite people and they did tell him to calibrate it with a vise and a 50lb weight .

It cost us $40 each , so if nothing else we do know our peek rpm . , but then yet I already knew that just driving them so???????????????

Thanks very much for passing on the info.
The SRX 600 is pretty well bang on with the Dyno results in this link:

This shows some Viper pipe info as well as a few other sleds
