Get that thing cleaned up by this weekend or i will come there and take the snowmobile free of charge and make sure it has a good owner.

I'd rather see your kids get neglected over these sleds... damn shame.

Its dirt! It will clean up! I just got it yesterday, and tore down the engine. It will get cleaned this week when I trailer it into work. And btw, I dont have any kids so I can neglect this sled all I want :p

You gotta laugh sometimes. I lived on a dirt road and had to trailer stuff and it didnt take much driving on it to get that dirty. We went to Ontario once on a sled trip, 4 sleds on a open trailer, and had to drive 30 Klicks in and out on a dirt road to get to the "resort" we were staying at. Even with covers the sleds looked like this after the drive. The owner let us use his hose when we arrived, but I still wanted to cry when I saw them.

It is good to see that the folks on this forum really love their machines !!!!!

I bet the SRX cleans up nicely. Glad you decided to save it rather than part it out. Git' er done !!!!!

9800 miles, high, i know, but I plan on a total rebuild this summer, tearing apart, cleaning everything and replacing any bad parts so shes ready to ride next winter. This is only the beginning...

looks identical to the one i just bought! #3 crank bearing was out, crank and lower end are at the crank shop as i type, they told me about 300 for the repairs. As i was disassebling i found #2 powervalve missing, later found it in the exhaust pipe! My sled appeared to have no maintance done to it! I've been eyeing prices for jugs and pistons on ebay also! I'm guessing 700 to a thousand for all the repairs.

Yea thats what I cam up with for my engine repairs. Just trying to find a decent shop around here to rebuild the crank or send it out of state somewhere.

jaws jr, you buy it as a project, or was all this a discovery after you bought it? get it for a steal as well?? :)

hey nice job on the clean up, i was just "razzin" your chain a little bit. take it easy. i'm pretty laid back.

I gotcha, it was just comment after comment of how dirty it was haha. hopefully my clutch puller comes in this week so i can get that crank case out and clean up the engine bay!

I would like to see how the engine bay looks once it is clean. Like stated before if you have questions just ask and also the search button is your friend.

Good luck with you new sled. ;)!

It was stored for two years, the day i went to look at it the motor started making noise so i offered 400$ and they accepted. I've got pics in the photo forum. I've got my crank at Northern Crankshaft located in thief river falls. They did the work on my zrt motor and it still thumping the trails. They told me about 300$ to repair my crank, as soon as they're done with the racing season rush.
