I have a 1982 Excel III that I absolutely love. I also have a new sled, but I love having my Excell III around for when I don't feel like riding my new sled. It actually runs pretty well, but I would like to make sure that I protect it as much as possible. My question is simple. I'm pretty sure that my sled is using oil from the resevoir. I have Amsoil Interceptor in it. To protect the engine a little bit more, would it be possible to also mix my gas with Interceptor at 80:1 or even 100:1? Like I said, I'm pretty sure that the oiler is working properly, but without putting a lot of miles on it, I can't say for sure if the oil level will go down. Besides fouling my plugs a tiny bit faster, am I risking anything else by mixing my gas slightly? Also, what ratio would you recommend. I know that Amsoil suggests 50:1, but I would assume that this would be on a sled that didn't have oil injection.
Thanks for the help.
