how do you test compression on a srx 700 my guage shows 0 when i pull it over. I know my guage is working cause I checked my ultra right after. I'm assuming you must have to do something with the powervalves to get a reading???

I'm assuming your sled is blown up then. Better check again.
step 1- remove spark plug
step 2 screw in gauge
step 3 - hold throttle open
step 4 - pull recoil 4 times
step 5 - read gauge
step 6 - if reads zero- you're f***ed

shes problaby wraping back around to zero,,lol, no really it don't sound good
put your thumb over the hole feel anything?

it still runs really strong I just did 100.33mph in 1000' with it I know its not blown up I just wanted to check compression. it has to be something with the power valves not letting it build compression or something else not letting it build compression cause it runs flawlessly. if it truely was zero compression it wouldn't run.

oh it would run...just on 2 cylinders...we melted a Viper cylinder down last year...and it still ran...put your thumb over the hole and pull it over...do you feel anything?

the check valve in your guage must have stuck or something.100.33mph in 1000' you got alot more than 0 for compression.i'd try it again .there's nothing to stop it from building preasure only blown pistons and they don't do 100mph.lol

something not right there. you could take the powervalves completely out of the engine & still get compression. It deosn't start building until piston is above port anyway.never heard such nonsense.

GAUAGE READ 0 ? EVEN A BURNED DOWN MOTOR WILL READ SOMETHING. DON,T SOUND RIGHT. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I just burned up the PTO on my MM. #2 & 3 read 125, but #1 read zero, so it happens when you put a big hole in the piston I guess....

I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was tightening the fitting to tight in the head causing the o-ring to leak. It has exactly 120 in all cylinders
