need to know the proper way to change thermostat.Without making a mess with the coolant everywhere, what procedure would be best to make the change.Would I have to siphone the coolant down, don't want to drain coolant from the plug, that is messy.

thats what i do.get about 4 or 5 feet of 1/4 gas line and feed it in to the coolant bottle and as far down the long hose that goes to the water pump as you can.start it sphoning and go have a beer ,it takes a while because of the small hose but when you get 3-4 liters out you shouldn't have any mess.

I won't know until I open it up and check, but something is not right.I ordered a thermostat and gasket and will wait till it arrives and then take apart. At least I will know that will be working properly. You see what happened to mod's thermostat, and he had his temp light going off also.
