While rebuilding my skid I noticed that some track clips were missing and some were broken. Upon inspection of the skid the screw that holds the hyfax was not installed properly(former owner) so I repaired that issue and replaced all missing or broken clips.
Put 300 miles since rebiuild and now I have 3 missing clips and four more broken ones :o| :o|
What up with this .The track is the original with 96 up the middle and 3600 miles on it.

Were the clips that came off again the ones that you just put on? how are the slides are they in good shape? only thing i can think of is that the clips are probably getting pretty weak for being an original track and all... Now if they track clips you just put on came off then its another wierd deal. I have to ask... were they were installed correctly? i mean its either they are on or not basically haha, no real way to mess it up.

Is your track tension alright? might be ratcheting somewhat...

if the sled was run alot dry with no snow, wears out clips in a hurry, if you find a loose one, when you remove it check how thick the middle section is and if its thin you might have to replace all the old clips. hope this helps

The new ones are still there. New hyfax and I put on a Hyfax Saver kit. ( lowered the six idler wheels).Never seen this before on my other sled. That original track has over over 6000 miles on it.

Usually it is a good idea to replace all track clips, when some start to fail regardless of the reason or miles. They all follow the same path and get the same wear and tear.

However, for not a lot more you can get a whole new track.

Yea, its probably a good idea to get a new track eventually.... I have about 5400 on the stock track... and the studs are still easily reusable on a new track if i want to save money... but the inside of teh track is takin a poo.and the outter edges are ripping apart pretty good. the lugs are still there, there wasnt much lug to begin with when it was new stock.

Yea, wanting to get a new track. But I want to 136 this sled during the summer and do not want to spend any more money on 121 tracks.Season is coming to an end and I will keep removing the broken ones so they won't tear apart my hyfax again.
