Has anyone messed around with changing out the stock gearing if so what did you find that worked or didn't work. Also where can you get lower gears for this thing? I'm thinking of reducing the lower gear by two teeth.

The stock gearing is just right for a stock Viper. Unless you are going with a longer track or alot deeper lug you will not see a gain.

if you do that, you will lose acceleration, but gain top end.......is this the performance change you are after?

Yep
Yes I am looking for more top end. I am wondering if there is a good source for sprockets. And if anyone has lowered the Bottom sprocket by a couple of teeth what is the outcome as far as top speed.

I'm sure you could some mph's by doing some clutching work

Like stein said, clutching will net you better top speed, tall gears arent gonna do you anygood if the motor cant pull them.Im geared 20/39 and i amazingly got to 160km and still pulling,I was drag racing last weekend and was getting beat at the end,so i fiddles with the clutching and now i have better top end than ive ever had before. (Stumbled on a clutch setup) Good luck with the gearing
