Need a new crank for my 00 SRX, found a complete bottom end for sale out of a 99 SRX with 3500miles for 350shipped. Emailed the seller and asked if the crank had been updated, 99 had an update right? He said he was unsure of any updates. This worth buying?

When you say bottom end I assume you mean case, crank. The stator in the 99 and 200 are different. You will have to either pull the crank and put it in your 2000 case of have the case welded and re drill two new holes. The welding and holes are no big deal especially if the engine is out and tore apart.
The only way to tell if the update is done is by seeing if the crank pins have been welded. SOme say have them run the sled numbers but I tried it and they couldnt say if it had or hadnt.
Im not too sure if you can see those pins while its together. If not itll cost you at least 100.00 to check and weld. If so Id pass you should be able to find one nearer 250.00
