I recently purchased my srx and it came with aaens triple exhaust. My Question is where do these pipes rank? I would rather have more drag power than trail. I have heard that the stock pipes run faster than aaen( dont know)
Thanks any help will be appreciated

I have found over the years...With Yamahas, if it comes stock from the factory with a pipe per cylinder you will not improve on the performance by going to aftermarket pipes, any gain at best would be minimal or actually harm horsepower. Dyno Tech proved this on the 540 VMAX F111 racer from the 80's, every manufacturers pipes made LESS horsepower then the factory pipes. Notice that few aftermarket companies made pipes for "Stock" SRX tripples.
Now...having said all this, I have AAEN pipes on my trail ported 2002 SRX. The only reason I installed these pipes was to save weight, and they are SUSTANTIALLY lighter then the stock pipes, even with a Bender canister. I had read all the posts about these pipes, but I am very familiar with the quality of Aaen's products. I felt as long as they did not cost me Horsepower I would be happy...and I am.

What pipes get the most hp?

The only pipes that built power on a stock SRX motor were Power Inc. pipes, and their gains were quite minimal, and at a lower rpm.
Am I better going to stock with stock can?
I have read a lot of discussion on this...most people feel the cans at best break even and may even hurt performance on the stock exhaust pipes , add noise, but they do save some weight. I have not seen any Dyno tests on exhaust comparrisons on SRX's though...does anyone have any Dyno info?

Buffalobob says the Bender cans make 3-5 hp. I would believe him. He has done alot of dyno testing.
So would I see performance gains if I went back to stock with a bender can?

A Bender can makes around 5 hp in the mid range, and about 3 hp on top end. Not enough to see a performance again with just a silencer change.

I have a 2001 SXR with a bone stock engine. I have added a Bender can to it and would say that there is very little change in the power you feel.
Does anyone have experience with this?
Would jetting changes or anything else help make the most power increase with the Bender can?
