Quick question, who makes a good gasket set I can get?

i bought the one for kirkswim viper on ebay but we are not using the head gasket that came in the kit. we are putting on a bender opticool instead. i am shure richierich could get you a gasket kit as well.

I think your right about the head gasket. I was riding last weekend and my antifreeze was a little foamy. The head gasket must be starting to leak into the cylinder. I bet that moisture is not the engines best friend.

ritchiritch is ritch motorsports, site sponsor. if you go to the main forumns page he has an area you can post what parts you need him to get for you.

Well not sure if this is good news or not, but found the problem. Seized bearing on the #3 connecting rod on the crank. Two cylinders are perfect and the #1&#2 pistons are great. The third cylinder has a scratch and the piston rings are seized. Having a bit of a problem getting the clutch off to get the motor up to get the crank out. How is this proceedure down properly. Would appreciate any answers.... Thanks...

SRX do the same thing center rod bearing there 3 of us that have 2000 SRX and all with in a week of each other the same problem I'm getting a new rebuild crank for 350 plus freight talk to crank guy he said all of the SRX & viper center crank bearing problem

I will give Richie a try, thanks guys... My sled is totally ripped apart now and I am just going to go through everything top to bottom and front to back. I cleaned up the engine compartment and it looks like it belongs on the showroom floor now.. A couple buddies were looking at it feeling jealous, less the expense of having to do the motor...lol...

To quickly determine if there has been any piston damage, unbolt the power valves (4 allen bolts per valve) take a look through the port were the valve lives. You will be able to see the whole side of the piston by slowly turning over the engine.

I don't want to discourage you but you will probably see scoring on the exhaust side along with the rings stuck..
