I know guys that shorten or lengthen the single exhaust pipe to get more snort. I do not have a dyno to test this with my single pipe, but was wondering if anyone else has. I want to do a little grass dragging this summer in the local area and was thinking about performing the mod if somebody knew what works. Anyone?

Anyone know anything about this? I know back in the day some guys would shorten the pipe belly by 1". Bikeman Performance lengthens firecat pipes by 1". Was just wonderin if anyone has tinkered with a SX Pipe....

Why do that when you are running triples, just curious??

This summer I thought I'd hit a few of the local grass drags in the area. With the big bore kit looking all stock and what not, I thought I'd run it with the single pipe on there. Otherwise I think they'd make me run modified and I don't think I'd have much of a chance those machines. Maybe it would compete in a modified class with the BB kit and triple pipes....I don't think I'd want to stud the heck out of my new track though. Ideally, I'd like to stick with my trail setup with respect to traction: 121x15x1 Predator with 144 megabites. By the way Johnny, what coating do you have on your pipes there...pretty sweeeeeeeet looking!

Thanks, they are just nickel plated! We have a nickel tank at work so when I first bought them it was pretty convenient to just have the boss dunk them in! Haha

Does the nickel plating hold up pretty well with the heat? Does it discolor at all? I was thinking about coating mine as well. They say ceramic coating is good for protection as well as insulating heat, but your's look very trick.

i saw a sxr with a 800 big bore and he had the viper single pipe and viper stock silencer on because there was too much back pressure in the stock sxr pipe/ silencer if i remember right. do a search i think he had it up for sale and he had some pics

they were plated in 2001 has held up great. They discolor near the jugs to a blue color and that to me looks killer!!

What does it normally cost to have that done for pipes like yours?
