Today when I went to unload my sled from the trailer I noticed it sounded like it fouled a plug. When I pulled the pto side plug it had antifreeze on it. The overflow tank is down quite a ways from where it was the last time I rode the sled. I pulled the heads off and all the seals look okay. The sled has been sitting for about 2 weeks and my dad was the last person to ride it so I really don't know how it was running but my brother says it sounded fine. How can the coolant get on top of the piston besides being a bad head gasket? How do I get all the coolant out of the case?

Thanks

i'm thinking the o-rings for heads are shot. probably w/its age and all the times the heads and o-rings got hot and cold, they probably are ready for the garbage can.

First of all what motor do you have? Check the head and deck for warpage. If all checks good with a machine block, replace gaskets with NEW OEM gaskets. After assy, warm up motor let cool completely down, purge air from system and retorque head, remember torque is a measure of movement. I always loosen fastener one at a time and retorque to proper specs, when retorqing heads.

alswagg, he has a srx 700, so he has the individual blue heads, w/o-rings for head gaskets.
