carb part ID?

I was cleaning the carb on my daughters 80 enticer 300. Removed the pilot jet and main jet and float needle seat. flipped the carb over and this fell out(see pics) I have no idea where it goes. It wasn't laying in the bowl when that was removed. Pulled carb off my son 84 340 enticer, same carb but a 34 mm, everything was the same but no part like this. Checked the parts diagram, nothing. Put it back together without it and seems to run fine. If anyone could tell me what this is and if I need it, that would be great.

did you try looking at the parts finder exploded view of the carbs....

it almost looks like part of a fuel screw or some end of the float bar ..... thats a tuff one, is it part of the inlet needle assembly??
