I don't use Casrol but "Good Oil ,is Good Oil"! There is no cheaping out on oil. If it meets all the modern rating and you like it USE IT! JMO

I am not trying to start any oil contrivercy was just seeing if anyone else has been running castrol. I run it cause it is readily available at almost every gas station if needed. I have been running it for the last 2 seasons and have not had any probs with it.
Are we talking about the synthetic or all purpose oil? I used a few qts of the all purpose castrol in my old Doo 500 and few of my past jet-skis and it had the worse smell ever. I believe the synthetic stuff is totally different. Isn't the castrol synthetic relabeled for DOO?

I think it is called Castrol Super snowmobile oil. It says that it meets all requirements. But the synthetic stuff is relabeled for the Doo's oil. All I can say is that it has been running well for my sled. No fouled plugs or lean.
the stuff I've found at my local refueling stops is not semi synthetic oil so I've only used it in a bind and never ran at top speeds.
You can get a 4 gallon case of yamalube 2s for 100 delivered so why bother?

All in all the oil works and it is available. Meets all standards, everyone has there own opinions of what works better. This thread was started just to find out if there was any other riders that are using it, thats all, was not started to bring up contrivecry about oil. It was just an inquiry. Thanks for all the comments.

^^This is what I used in the old DOO and was the worse smelling oil ever. I think I paid $3/qt for it.
using it for 3 years in my sx700, meets the spec for 1997....paid a dollar a quart in a clearance aisle and picked up 20 quarts......

Worked alright in my Cat free airs back in the day. How are your power valves?

bluwulffg has a Viper, the power valve question was for him.
Not so clean for PVs, but I have run a ton of it in older sleds with good luck.
There are many much better oils available now.

My PV's get a little loaded up. Not bad though they move freely I clean them 2x a season in the middle and at the end. Have not seen any sign of pull through. I have put on about 1800k on this season and have not had any prob.
