I went for a ride today and ended up riding with two other guys. I am running a 02 viper and they were running an apex and z1 turbo. They were surprised that the little 700 would keep up. They would pull away but I was always never far behind. had a great time riding with them.

I have yet to find another sled that will leave me in the trails.......sure the bigger iron you mentioned will get you on a lake...... but how many times does that happen??

The viper has a great motor and good handling. Spend a couple hundred to drop a different skid in it and you have the total package. There's not much more to want, other than maybe a little less weight?

Not to mention it's a great looking sled that still attracts attention even though it's 7 years old :bling:

They would only pull away on the long staights other than that I had to let off in the trails cause I was on the **s. Could have pushed harder but I rather run in the back. :yam:

Depends what you put in the rear. One of the guys showed up a couple weeks ago on our UP trip with his 780BB Viper with a Cat skid in the rear. Guess what?? That's what broke!! ............first 40 miles of the trip. He ended up trading the whole sled for a clean 2006 Apex at Pat's in Greenland.

I have an 02 Viper with almost 14,000 miles and an 03 RX1. I ride the RX1 mostly but still love getting on the old viper, smooth quick power, soft ride and excellant cornering and handleing! My sons (23and26) prefer the viper over the 1 ton but I have worked hard to get the 1 ton to handle for me so I ride it most of the time. Last year the only sled I had trouble with through the trails on my viper was an srx, those baby's really can rail when set up right!
I plan on buying a newer sled this summer maybe a vector and plan on keeping the old Viper and 1 ton.

I am going to pick up my srx next weekend. Gonna take her out for a little rip before I tear into her and clean it up. Bought it last month but haven't had the chance to pick it up yet. I have been really happy with the way my viper runs but I can only get about 140 kilometers on a tank????. I actually use less gas the harder I ride her. Don,t know I will run her for the rest of this season but rip into her over the summer months.
