Well just as I suspected,it had to do with the thermostat.A little rod pushed thru the side, prevented opening. Can't imagine how this could of happened even.Waiting for parts from rich..hope it comes soon ,because weather is going to get crappy again. With above temps and rain. But at least I won't worry about an overheating issue and the flashing lights. Here are some pics, have you seen this before.

that would do it...
I've heard tell of that happening as a result of overheating. In fact, my friend's SRX was overheating and every time we pulled the stat it would look like that even though we had just replaced it. Went through three stats until we found what the actualy cause was.

THANKS mod blue. There are you happy.Hope it doesn't happen again.
Yamerdown..what were your findings on the true cause.was it lack of snow not cooling and caused overheating causing this to happen.

Ohh
I see, thermostat went down and guide fell out, that would have been nice should it have found pump some way.

I was thinkin that to,but the guide didn't completelt drop off,it got caught and stayed ther. But could off fallen off and travelled.I imagine it may make it by the pump, bring so tiny.

does anyone know the direction of the flow.Once thermostat open's up,does it flow from the narrow end tru the bigger end.One hose connected to the bottom or below thermostat and one hose from on top of housing, above thermostat to the fill container.

Yes, I'm pretty sure flow is from the narrow end through the big end. -Ed

The temp sensing area is under the springs...SO...the springs are toward the water pump..hot side.. and flows to the tapered side.

The temp sensing area is "inside" the spring. -Ed
