I would like to upgrade my sons 95 Vmax 600 to under feet heat exchangers. I looked through the tech section and done several searches. I think it can be done. What parts do I need and how big of job is it?

This is my $.02,,i would not...the coolers under the seat on the older yamaha sleds were the best place for cooling, under the foot rest they just don't get enough snow wash for cooling when running in marginal snow conditions(hard pack, ice, etc) and over heat more easily, also when riding on a cold cold day you get melting re-freezing from water drip off the coolers on to the suspension getting lots of build up making it not operate the best is what i've seen over the many years. i'd leave it alone.

i wish yammie would have left them under the seat.

I have 2 under the feet coolers. But I am with Daman and it would be a lot of work for not much gain. I have the rear cross over tube that is needed too. Pm me and I can figure a price. Maxdlx

I love the under foot heat exchangers, have never had cold feet since having the Yamaha. No matter what my next sled is, I will try and put a set on it.

I've NEVER had an over heating problem with running board xchangers, even running pipes for so many years in MN.....talk about marginal snow conditions(just my $.02)! BUT the tunnel length are nice too....always getting at least some snow dust anyway. I wouldn't bother with the mod to be honest with you, like the others said no real gain there!

I rode the 600 3 years ago in minus 20 degree temps and left foot got cold enough in 45 minutes it took 1.5 hours to warm up. Now that my son is riding I dont want him to have same trouble.

Just my 2 cents but it would be cheaper and easier to just purchase him better boots and socks. If cold feet is all your really worried about.

A quality boot and a pair of synthetic socks are amazing when you do it right.

With no other changes except foot wear on my '97 vmax 600 I have near perfect foot conditions no matter the temp outside. I have a set of the Klim adrenaline GTX boots and wear (got them at cabella's and can't find any info) $25 socks. Just one pair. They are not tight fitting and the first time I wore them I was thinking my feet would be cold. Nope. Even just standing around on the snow they are nice and warm. Makes you worry less about foot temp and more about cold damp butt syndrome.

I agree on good boots I got Yamaha boots that are good up to -40 and never had a problem with feet getting cold. Also I use the wool socks used for hiking climbing camping and sledding... good boots make a world of difference ;)!

Doesnt a 97 Vmax have heated feet rests? My 98 Does. I wore 2 pair of socks and had good boots and still got cold. I bought my 97 for this reason. I have had no problem since. We had some cold weather over the weekend and he had cheap boots and did not complain. Maybe I will just scrap the idea. Thanks for the suggestions. ;)!

I have only had 3 sleds without under feet HX's. and 2 were fan cooled. The other was a PRS chassis doo, and cold feet was an issue on that doo.

Obviously if the under feet HX's are the only ones, you will have cooling issues, but all the sleds i have seen with under feet HX's have had HX's in the tunnel of some sort to take care of cooling.

This was what I was referring to when I said 97 Vmax. I own a 95 and 98

I'd sell you both exchangers and rear cross tube for $100 plus shipping. All came off of a 97 700 sx with 1300 miles. Maxdlx
