i only have one key for my sled 02 viper and the steler wants 25$ for a spare key is that to much or is that the rate whare to ge a spare online if you can.

thats what I paid for one, another dealer wanted $45. good luck if u can find one cheeper..
if need be u can unhook socket behind key to run sled so I was told..
I went and got extras at a locksmith....phone around, might get some at one. 5 bucks apiece.

Get the number from your key (example 1310) and go search on e-bay for one. When my brother in law bought his 2001 SX600R the key from his 87 Exciter was the same number so one key fit both sleds. I have bought a spare key on e-bay for $3.49 plus shipping before. You may try a snowmobile pick and pull yard too. Good luck!! -Ed

the time involved searching for a key in a haystack might not be worth the savings, I know my time is worth something to me, i'd pay him the 25 try to beat him down a little first of course, just depends on your position, 25 isn't bad, but you may be able to find one cheaper if u want to invest the time

Had the same problem with dealer wanting too much for key, just went to local lock smith-key store and they cut a new key for $1.50. I had 4 made just incase. Get out the phone book and look around.
