Hopefully I'll be putting my engine bcak together very soon and I'm wondering what I'm suppose to seal the two crank case halves with and how. The service manual shows Yamabond?? Also any tips on reassembling the entire engine would be much appreciated. Better to have advice now than have to ask for help after I screw something up! Do you apply sealer anywhere else when using all new gaskets?

Yep use yamabond, or the other stuff lol cant remember the name, in a yellow tube lol someone else will chime in with the proper name. As for tips, make sure the 2 halves are very clean, free of any oil or dirt b4 sealing them, 2 new crank seals, put a little extra sealant in the bottom corners of the halves where the seals are just to take up any room. Dont be afraid to use the 2 stroke oil on the top end when assembling it is your friend lol, and most of all dont rush, take your time and dont get rammy lol.

the stuff in the yellow and white tube is the threebond 1194. its the same as the yamabond stuff. also, the pto seal goes w/the flat end facing out, and the cupped side facing in towards the bearings. for the mag seal, it goes in w/the 4 little things that stick off one of the sides, those face in towards the crank bearings.

make sure crank bearings are very clean & oil them very good, especially if it will sit for any period of time before running, I ues synthetic 10w30. I would put new water pump seals in while it is apart. yamabond works good. I would put some grease on the lips of all the seals- water pump, crank seals, that will prevent a dry seal burning out on a dry crank journal. Make sure all the clips are on the bearings, along with all the locating pins put into position. Like slayer said, take your time & keep distractions minimal, you don't want to be in there for another few thousand miles!!!
