V-max 540 clutches on a 89 Exciter

Wondering if the Comet clutches from my max 540 will fit right on to my Exciter
i think the primary is an 108 or an 108c,not realy sure

The psi tuning specsheets recomend to change the original clutches out to better ones,and i tought the comets from my max would be ok

I dont know if the comets have been repaired over the years,but the odometer says 6000km or something like that..As for my Exciter,it has nearly 15000km on its ***,and the original YPZ(?) clutches got to be pretty worn out by now from years of abuse

You are welcome to come with better clutching suggestions,heard much good about polaris clutches:)

Exciter clutch's

I am running the newer Vmax style clutch's, they work real well! Been playing around with helix's and she runs real strong. If I recall correctly, the Vmax 540 has a smaller driven clutch does it not?

Hope that helps, the primary should be fine though??
 
Im not realy shure about the clutches,hust and idea i came up with.Since the vmax is being restored,i figured i could borow the clutches from the v-max to see if they worked good on the Ex.Thin the vmax's primary is a comet 108 or a 108c

But clutches from the newer v-maxes could work.Do they fit bolt on?or any mods needed?

Vmax clutches on Exciter.

They should fit right on! Like I said though, the 540 Vmax has a smaller driven clutch, I don't think it will work???
 
Ok,ill try to get hold off V-max 500 or 600 clutches.Do i need both?thinking if the belt is wider on the 500 and 600 to.
If i only can get a primary,will this work with the original Exciter secondary?Give me your oppinions
