Why? Well we had just stopped on the trail for a 'pit stop' and started up again and this trail is on a old railway line so its long and fast. Anyway got her up to maybe 80kms and bang i thought i lost my chain/chaincase. Waited for the guys to come back for me and stepped off the sled and holly %$#@*& the handle bars snapped right off. Pretty lucky i guess. Got the sled home and noticed the it was the drive shaft that had snapped right in the middle! I am sure it caused some damage to the chain and gears but looks like the case is in one piece. I will be tearing into her tonight to get an idea of what i will need, but my winter is over. Oh well get her ready for next year. But just so you know its been over 8yrs and 16,000kms and this was the first time i have ever been broken down on the trail.
