98 srx 700 stator test procedure

I think my stator is failing at high rpm.Can someone tell me what the test procedure is for a 98 srx 700.I would like to check it with a multi tester.I was getting the 7 blinks code, replaced the power valve servo motor,same thing no top end,different motor,carbs cleeaned,power valves adj. 5+ times,different oil pump.always same results.the only thing i haven't checked/replaced is the cdi & the stator.I can get one locally but want to check mine 1st.It might not test bad cause it only runs like crap above 6,000 rpm at 3/4 to full throttle. Sincerly Frustrated in Wisconsin

Check for wire rubs throughs too..

i had the same problem with my 98 it is the stater coil also check for discoloration of the three sending units on stater it may have overheated!!!

Checked stator last night it checked o.k.Is it possible it could be failing under a load?Is there a way to check the CDI? Don't know what else to do.I'm tempted to swap out the stator but don't feel like buying something i don't need.

madpat......run your sled till it is at full running temp and then check it....most stators start to show effects when they are warmed up!!!

Right they need to be warm when doing these checks..
