i have a 04 viper mountain. rebuilt my motor a month ago. adjusted oil cable play to 19mm and then i filled the tank and oil tank. went for a 150km ride then fuel light came on. then filled her up again then when to fill my oil tank and i will only take about 6-700ml ....WTF. why isnt she burning much oil i had it at damans setting.

Don't know. At 19mm you should use a lot of oil. I run Amsoil and set my gap at 22mm. Did you get your clutching dialed in yet?

^^^x2.....you did pull apart the halves(opening the pump up/wo)and measure? 19mm is the rich side of the spec.Madmatt said:

madmatt, yes i got my clutching right on now. took the weight out of the middle hole and its fine now! daman, i did haul the ruber off the cable and hauled and then measured 19mm. ill have another look at it tomorrow. sled is working fine but i just want to know why she aint using much oil

at 12 mpg, that's about 50:1 mixture... (assuming 700 mls of oil).... if you told us how much fuel you used someone could give you a more precise calculation...

That doesn't sound too bad to me? Isn't it typically two tanks of gas to one tank of oil... as a general rule?

bleed the oil pump and turns out it was airlocked. must of been letting so much oil go through. i got some premix in my tank now just to see if its working good!
