Guys I just adjusted the suspension for my sons viper. I took off all the preload on the center shock then adjusted the rear to set the transfer rods which worked well. My question is when I lift the sled and take all the weight off the track the spring is loose. When I set the sled back on the ground the spring is snug. Is that how it should be?

The center spring should just be snug when the track is in the air. If it's loose, you'll likely have BIG problems. Could loose the keeper on top and BOING, the spring goes thru your track, or tunnel, or... you get the picture LOL!!

So I should lift the sled up and make sure the center shock has some preload on it with all the weight off the sled?

Yes, only want it loose to rotate, NOT loose enough to move parrallel to the shock. Like Dave said, the spring retainer may fall out when the center shock unloads during riding=lots of $$$

Took the sled out today and my son put 100 miles on it and ran great. Had no more fish tailing still a little stiff but I will try and move the FRA up or take some preload off the rear spring. Thanks for the help guys.
