Went to my garage today to get my 99srx ready for my trip to maine on wed. and noticed a decent sized puddle of coolant underneath it. Never had problems with overheating or losing coolant. It had been sitting for about a week and half since I last rode it. I checked my belly pan and saw nothing fresh for liquid so I moved on to the heat exchangers. No visible leaks on the sides or the front. However beneath the front heat exchanger i can see coolant dripping. Need some opinions on where it could possibly be leaking from...a hose, the backside of the exchanger i dont know. If it is the exchanger how hard is it to take it off and put a new one on.

thats what i have heard. like i said the problem is that i cant see any leaks visually. i am gonna head down today and try putting pressure to the system to see if i can find the leak. hopefully it is somewhere easy to get to. has anyone ever heard of using alumaloy on it.

is your reservoir level low? the puddle might look big because there were snow melting from inside your belly pan that mixed with it. I think the belly pan drains from just in front of the exchanger.

I was finding some small coolant puddles a few years ago. I would also see a few drops on the heads. It ended up being the water pump seal, and the fins were shooting some coolant up.

to answer your question yammie yes i am but i do not have any tear thrus or any thing wrong with the fins. i have pulled the heat exchanger off and found cracks on the backside of it so i am looking for one asap. if you know anybody thats got one let me know.
