HI!! What you guys will buy after your SRX!!
I own an srx 2001, maybe i will buy an srx 2002 lol!! I'M sure its my last Yammy ever. I don't want to own an RX1,, I Think they are just made for touring, trail riding!!! THe srx is not a ditch banger but he have something special that i like.. But now No more yammy that fit my still.. I will probably opt for something like a Polaris pro X!!
And you?

Wont sell the srx probably would get an Rx-1. The rx will do anything any other sled will do its a awesome sled. I'm only 16 and i ride the crap out of my dads Rx-1 I keep up with all those revs and firecats in the rough stuff on it, It flies straight that would most likely be my next sled.

well, i should try one, one day but i doubt i will have more fun with an rx1 than a light PRo X, i want sometimes for jumping, climb hill, etc etc.. Its not for what the rx1 is intended for!!

All I do is ditchbang, climb and jump...Last year I bought an SXR7 with a full snoX suspension which should be cool for that stuff but I ended up driving an RX for 90% of the season. I could not believe how that sled would go. I went everywhere. Jumping in sand pits, actual ditch banging, hill climbing..you couldn't beat the damn thing. I've never been a fan of the SRX accept for all out speed..the RX has it hands down everywhere else.

I am keeping my 02 srx as long as I can....The new rx1 is much better than 03's and 04's..next sled would have to be a turbo rx1.....

Life after the srx
#1 remove back brace
#2 get on a viper and ride without feeling like you went ten rounds with tyson at the end of the day.(thats my plan anyway)

IF you read my post, you will see that i was saying that my srx isnt a ditch banger but he have something special that i like. THe power, the sound, the light feel of the throttle, the light feel of the sled in general etc etc.. But i need, for mr next sled and my taste, something more Pro X oriented.. I doubt, again, even if people tell that they have fun with an rx1, that's the sled i need for what i want!! But , i will keep my srx as long as i can!

Fortress,
You'll have to let me know what you think of the '02 SRX that I've been building up for this season. I picked it up in August, brand new from a local dealer. I had a '00 SRX that I sold when the Vipers arrived in '02. I still missed some of the great qualities of the SRX so I thought this time around I'd build one up more for my style of riding.
It's got a Ripsaw track, and I just picked up a new Monoshock skid that someone yanked out of his '05 RX-1 to turn into a drag sled. I plan on installing that with the new electronic dash adjustable Ohlins Monoshock to dial in the ride on the fly.
For the front it has a custom 44" wide ski stance with 10" of travel using the new Fox Float shocks and some lightweight chromoloy trailing arms from Northern Lites. I just got some of the new USI SPX skis to install.
I'm having a custom Boss seat made that is 3" higher than the stock seat and have raised the handlebars so the hip/knee relationship will be better than the stock riding position.
I'm hoping that with these improvements I'll be able to ride this SRX in just about any trail condition that I encounter without losing any of the fantastic qualities that make the SRX what it is, the best of the Yamaha two stroke sleds ever built.

There is nothing out there now that I would even think of replacing my SRX with. Maybe an RX-1 as a second sled.
Plan on keeping it for a while.

As soon as any manufacturer makes another 2 stroke triple, I'm all over it. I cant get enough of the triple exhaust note. Nothing else does it for me!

I'm keeping both of mine indefenitely. I plan to update rear susp. for a smoother more plush ride. With 3 daughters [ages 13,11&9] who knows what Yamaha will offer in 12-15 years. It's a good thing these sleds are built for longevity

I'm probably going to keep my SRX, but in a couple years i'll be in the market to buy a Pro-X 440 for jumping around on... maybe a phazer if they quit beating it with the ugly stick.
