I know they lose hp, but I think they sound cool, just for goofing off with friends up north. There is one on Ebay, close to me. I just want to know if it will fit & what is a good price. The ad says it came of an 01 700 sxr. I was looking on benders site I could not find that can listed. They had a viper can and one list as being only for the 97 700sx. Is the 97 that different from the 98?

sleddineinar, mbrp lists the same silencer for all 97-05? redhead triples, including vmax, sx, sxr, xtc, venom, and venture. I believe this is correct as they are all the same engine and same pipe/chassis configuration. I recently acquired a Bender Racing can for a redhead by mistake (I have a Twin, different can) if you are interested. PM me for details and I can send pics if you would like. From my experience, any loss is not noticeable with cans, and the weight advantage of using them more than makes up for it.

I have one on my sled, it was on my '97 SX 700 then it went to a '00 SXR 700 then it came back to mine, they are interchangeble, mine cracks like a whip, but it isnt unbearbly loud, it sounds AWESOME......
THEY WILL GET VERY VERY VERY LOUD IF YOU DONT REPACK THEM EVERY 2 YEARS OR SO, packing isnt very expensive, easy to do........
My dad had this can on his sled W/o packing in it and HOLY CRAP it was loud

I'm concerned about that too, but I would like one for when I'm visiting my buds in northern Minnesota. Probably would use it down here around the Twin Cities, too many people to piss off!

I thought the bender can was pretty quiet compared to bender pipes. Twin can vs tripple pipes though. Definetly an indy car type squeal out of it.

PLEASE don't use it in Northern MN, The local clubs are having issues with building new trails from private land owners BECAUSE of loud sleds. I DON'T blame them, I live 200 yards from a spur trail and Loud sleds piss me off at 2am in the morning when they WAKE ME UP!!!!!. I can barely hear a stock sled but pipes/cans are DAMN annoying to people that live close to the trails.

Well, I try to be considerate late at night. I agree that they can be pretty annoying at that time of the morning. I just figured it's easy to swap out a can vs. pipes.
that bender can of mine is on ebay, #320350419147 if interested.
I have one for my 98 700 SX. I wouldn't say you lose power but you do save weight. I ONLY use mine when I'm heading North in the springtime where all that hears me are the trees and the mountains or if I'm running the 100+ miles of lake tree lines on a sunny day in March. It really does sound sweet on the top end. If you are planning on keeping your sled and you have a use for it where it won't bother too many people i'd say go for it. The only way i'll sell mine is if I sell my sled as well. It is fun to use a couple times a year. If you come up behind slower sleds on the trails that don't see you and don't let you past, all it takes is a good blip on the flipper and you'll have there attention immediately.

If anybody remembers or has catalogs from 97 98. The Bender cans made 7 more hp in the mid range and 2 more hp on top. I have used these cans on various red heads always with performance gains. Their is about at least 3 versions though one being loud and only for 97 700's. Then from 98 and up there is a loud one and a quiet one.
This is in my opinion the best silencer for the red head because it does make more power.

So does anybody know what's different on the 97 700?
