winter over..maybe not..

great day

WOW!!! What a great day for riding.With the last snow we got and cooler temps.makes for great riding yet.Just put on 65 km's.Went along the River along the tree line and snow is great.The ditches are perfect with about 4 inches of snow yet.Have to watch where the water is,but being cooler its not so bad.Found a waterway about 1/4 mile long and did some water skipping.Sled does float and ski's are up all the way...wicked.My boots got wet and my pants a bit,but all was good.
STEIN!!!! Tomorrow (SUNDAY) will be excellent to ride in my area.Going to -12 tonight and a high of -5 Sunday.Should be an all day ride.Flood crest is coming this Wed.,so have to prepare a bit for it.Damn ground is still frozen around the house,some people just can't get there Flood Walls up.Mine is ready to go except the North side is giving me problems.Using a propane torch and salt to break up the ice,but it is slow.

well put on 85 km's now today.Went back to my water skipping area.Water is now about 1/2 mile long.So late in the afternoon decided to skip somemore and deeper water.Was going great after a few runs.Went for more and all of a sudden sled starts to slow down and engine begines to rev high.Oh Oh!!!Damn clutch must be getting wet I thought.Just barely got out ..was right in the middle of the water.Almost came to a stop,but managaed to angle out to the snow.Did a few more runs again after that and a couple of times it almost happened again.I really washed the inside of the tunnel good.....lol
 
got a few more km's on tonight.More ditchbanging and water skipping.The snow is just perfect and smooth like glass.Still almost stalled the sled in the watert.Going good for 1/4 mile and then slows right down and engine then over-revs...because clutch and belt gettingwet.When I got home found the Blue rubber plug is missing where you have access to the nut on the front shock from the inside.The hole being open is in direct line of the clutch...damn.Just took the plug from other side and plugged it up.It should be good now.Man I will be riding all day tomorrow,temps dipping to -13 C.The snow is still mint in the fields and ditches all the way along the Hwy.Riding not over for me yet.Probably will get more miles on the sled Monday too since I am not working..and that will be it for the season.Temps really warm up after that. :o|
 
still snow out

here is my 600 in front of house.You can see some of the uprights set in the concrete that are the supports for the flood wall.Our crest here is in 9 days.It is -9 C now with windchill -16.I am going to take the SRX out today for a good run.Should be able to get some speed runs in as the snow between the lanes on the Hwy is perfect flat and smooth.

SRX and SXR pics today

well put on 55 miles on the SRX and it is running strong.Along the Hwy I am hitting 113 mph in 3 inches of crusty snow.Sled pulls like a friegt train and rpm's are spot on 8500 at WOT.I am passing cars like they are standing still,no cops around so I am lucky.

thanks alot ther stein. We had 6 of us at my mom's place putting in the uprights for now.We will wait if the flood forcast gets worse,we'll have to put up the plywood sheets and angle iron braces.My uprights are in,but waiting again before I even touch the plywood.I am very high to begin with.My mom is worried the most.If ice jamming begins,the water will rise very quick on our side.
 
just came in from a little water skipping again.This time the 600 is staying on top and not slowing down because of wet clutch or belt.This is about the end of riding.Waiting for Flood waters to come to me.Can I say BIG WATER SKIPPING ahead...lol
