Okay I've got an 02 SRX I want to sell and it's in the classified section (13000kms original owner). I'm not getting much interest in it. Except for selling pieces of it and my gear. :winterrul
Do you think it is advisable to part out the sled? Would I get more for it? or should I hang onto it until September and try and sell it then.

How long do you think it will take to part it out completely?

I really don't want to tear this thing apart. It runs great and would make someone a great sled. I wish I could keep it for a lake runner but I need the cash.

Your advise is greatly appreciated.

IMO, when you part out a sled, you can get rid of some easy parts, like the clutches, engine parts, trailing arms, etc, but you always get stuck w/some parts that you just can't give away. plus i'm one of those, that disagrees w/parting out a completly perfect running sled. IMO, only part it out if it was crashed, or blown up bad, etc. if i was you, i would keep the sled together and try to sell again complete in fall. the reason for slow sales now, is because the end of the snow season is here and the economy in states. many people losing their jobs, so they can't be looking at recreational purchases. more important to get food on the table.

I have a buddy interested in getting an SRX ,however he is looking in NY (and as you can see these sleds are quite a bit cheaper down there)as we are not far from the border. What is your bottom dollar?

I lowered the price to $3000 canadian obo (approx $2500USD obo). That will include the SRX cover, stock windshield. You pick what skid you want the Edge or stock, I have both. What are they going for down there?

Like Mopar said. Aside from the whole economy thing, this is probably the worst time of the year to try and sell a sled.

I've usually made my best deals on things I wanted to buy when buying off/end of season. Bought a boat that way. Low balled the guy in mid summer and by late summer, he suddenly wasn't insulted by my offer anymore and was begging me to buy it. I made another offer minus 10% which really pissed him off. He called two days later and the boat was mine.

I'd wait 'til next fall when the snow flies and you get some kid that has a buddy that took him riding and now he just has to have a sled (that will beat said buddy).

There is something to be said about parting out vs. selling whole. I'm sure I could have got a lot more back if I had parted out my XCR but I ended up seeling it to a buddy. I surely didn't get into this sport to make money on trade-ins.

But...........The only way to get your money back on something like this is to part it. There worth alot more in peices then they are as whole. Some may disagree with parting out a perfect sled, but if it was there money and you can get an extra $1000-$1500 to part it, Id think you would do the same thing.
