Fogging The Viper

Do you guys drain the fuel in the carbs or does it just evaporate? Also do you pull the carbs before your 1st ride to clean or are they good to go?

i'll drain the tank as much as i can stabil whats left. either drain bowls or run dry. theres a knack to foggin and running out of fuel making sure you fogged properly.

I didn't this season, but yes, pull the carbs at the beginning of the season and clean them. I don't drain the fuel I just stabilize it.

I will never let my Viper run out of fuel... I've done this the past two seasons and it caused nightmares trying to start it for the first time of the new season. I guess the fuel pump diaphram dries out, and is extremely hard to prime.
I'm just stabilizing the last gallon of gas, running the gas throught the sled, and leaving it. Next year I'll top off the entire tank with good fresh premium.

I can imagine. Last year I left 1/3 of gas in the tank and even then. I needed at least 50 pulls to get her going after sitting all summer.

Just read this by mod-it. What a great tip!

Before you put the clutch belt back on the next season, and after putting some fresh fuel back in it, rotate the primary clutch by hand back and forth. This will make the mechanical fuel pump re-prime the carbs, and save you a ton of pulling. I just heard this during this season, and it worked great when I cleaned my aunt's carbs in the middle of the season this year. Two pulls and it was running.
